Overview

Mercado de San Miguel is an indoor market full of the most amazing tastes in the centre of Madrid. It is really really busy at certain times of the day - so be aware that there could be crowds to jostle - but it's well worth it. There are lots of different stalls within the market each selling different tasty food and drinks - if you're in to Spanish food this is foodie heaven!

Transport & Parking

We just happened upon it randomly - it's near the palace but couldn't tell you where exactly! Would think that it would be accessible by public transport with a short walk.

Access

If there were no crowds it would be ace - so pick your visiting time wisely! There is an accessible entrance clearly marked. Inside there are corridors with vendors to each side of you - it's all on one level. The counters are all different - some high, some low, some with fixed seating and some with larger seating areas that you can rearrange tables and chairs as you wish.

Toilets

Didn't see any signs for any loos.

Staff

Staff seemed friendly and helpful and very used to dealing with tourists!

Definitely go - even if it's too busy to stay there to eat it's worth popping along to catch the vibe!
