Well laid out charging bays in a Morrisons car park

These EV charging bays were located within the Morrisons car park. It seemed there were eight bays in total with four machines. The bays were a decent size and had hatch markings on at least one side and at the base of the space. The machines were fast charging machines with cables attached and supported with an overhead arm. The positioning of the bay, machines and cables seemed well thought out and provided a decent amount of space to move around both the vehicle in the bay and the machine.

Disabled Access In and Around

Good

The layout for most of them was two bays bordering each other and then there were hatch markings surrounding the two spaces. This meant that there was always a decent amount of space on at least one side of the car and at the base of the bay. There was an individual bay at each end but one was placed next to a kerb with bollards on it, the other was placed next to a standard parking bay. The spaces themselves were a decent size. The machines were placed within the hatch markings that were between two spaces. They included a screen on each side that faced the parking bays themselves. The screens were located at a decent height for me in a seated position and they were level with the floor and on a flat, solid surface. There were multiple QR codes on the machine which provided information on how to use the bay and even how to get a receipt. There were two bollards placed at the front of the machine to protect people driving into the machine, these bollards did not obstruct the screen or the charging cable access. These bays were fast-charging bays and had their own cables attached to them. The cables were large and heavy because they were fast. They were supported by an overhead arm.

This is a large car park that also has accessible parking spaces, parent-and-child spaces, and standard spaces with wider spacing between each bay. This car park is located 600 metres from Stratford Railway Station and Stratford Bus Station.
