Let off steam at this living history railway! Experience the nostalgic sights, sounds and smells of steam as you travel through 10 miles of beautiful Hampshire countryside. Located just 7 miles from the ancient city of Winchester, you can join the line at the picturesque Georgian town of Alresford or at the bustling market town of Alton. Fares give you all day travel, so you can visit all four stations with period charm and explore these historic towns. Watch the world go by at the peaceful country station of Medstead & Four Marks and enjoy a run around at Ropley station with its elevated picnic area and the famous Kings Cross Bridge which featured in the Harry Potter films. Here you can also investigate the impressive engineering sheds and see preservation in action! Special events throughout the year include a Day Out With Thomas, War on the Line, Wizard Weekend, Santa Specials and Christmas Leave, along with spectacular Steam Galas and much more!

*One FREE carer per registered disabled full fare paying visitor. All of our standard travel services are capable of carrying from 2 to 6 fixed wheelchairs in the brake compartment, reachable via ramps at any of our stations. We also have a specially adapted carriage with a customised open space designed for wheelchair use with optional tables. Please contact us for up to date information about which carriages are in operation. *NOT available on Real Ale Trains, Dining Trains or Santa Specials, as these are on board the train only and so every visitor receives the same offering.
