I am a disabled person. I have experience of challenges around: a hidden impairment, accessing toilets and moving around.
I use or have experience of: disabled toilet, hidden impairment, powerchair, wheelchair
Overall Rating
Excellent
First off the entrance is a ramp, not steps! (living where I do in Colchester, that's a bonus - especially since this is in an old Barclays Bank) The front door in manual and quite heavy but the staff were very alert and were at the door opening it before I'd even reached it. THey were very attentive and ensured I was comfy in my wheelchair, and for the rest of the night I was just another guest in the group. I used the disabled toilet which was tucked away from the other toilets. It was spacious enough for me to get my powerchair in easily but the cord had been tied up a little. I explained to a member of staff why it was necessary to not do this and she took it on board very well and was highly apologetic. All in all I would call this an accessible venue and a good night out.
