N. BAR

I wanted to get a gel manicure but found that a lot of places were inaccessible, but this one seemed to tick all the boxes for me. The salon is on Bond Street, Chelmsford, near to accessible parking. It’s step free to access the salon and the manicure bars are step free access. You get taken back along a small corridor to the manicure area, and there is a little bit of a ramp. I use an electric wheelchair and found that it was a bit tight to get to the nail desk, so used by amazing wheelchair skills to wiggle into the spot. I couldn’t get my legs under the desk due to the height of my wheelchair unfortunately, as the gap was narrow and low to put your legs under. I don’t have great core strength so did have to lean over, and also at one point lent on the wall to balance myself but that’s just due to me usually my arms usually for balance (and having my nails done obviously meant my arms/hands were in use). Due to the tight space, a lady who was going to sit behind me got taken into a separate room for her manicure as it was a bit of a tight squeeze due to my wheelchair. All staff were lovely, and the lady I had was very accommodating and checked I was ok during the nail treatment. I am looking forward to going back to have my nails done there regularly. If you are visiting for a pedicure, it looks like there is one step up to access the pedicure seats. They also do other treatments like massage, brows and lashes but I don’t know the access to those rooms. All in all a very lovely place.
