Gifted to the people of Dundee in 1935, Mills Observatory is Britain's first purpose-built public observatory where you can see breathtaking views of the stars and planets through our main telescope in the dome. We also have binoculars and more accessible telescopes that can be used from the ground floor. From October to March we are open full time and the planetarium shows, amongst other things, provide the chance to learn about constellations, planets and other jewels of the night sky. If you're curious about comets, mystified by meteors and want to glean a wealth of information about the galaxy, the friendly staff at Mills have the answers. Occasionally, we also open on selected dates from April to September.
