I am a carer or friend of a disabled person. I have experience of challenges around: hearing, moving around and understanding.
Overall Rating
Good
Easy to access cafe with good value for money.
Disabled Access In and Around
Excellent
The cafe has level access throughout and is spacious enough to manoeuvre a power wheelchair around.
Parking & Transport
Excellent
There's plenty of disabled parking close to the entrance and there is no height restriction meaning that large WAVs and Minibuses can use it too, which is handy as it is situated next to the Eastgate Shopping Centre but it's worth noting that there is a 3 hour maximum time limit.
Accessible Toilets
Average
The accessible loo is quite spacious but not always that clean. There is no changing places toilet. There is a large baby changing room which is sometimes cleaner.
Staff
Excellent
Staff are always friendly and helpful and we have noticed them carrying people's trays to their tables for them.
Additional Information
It is the only place that I have seen dedicated wheelchair tables that are slightly taller than the other tables allowing more space underneath them. They might not work for every style of wheelchair but my brother's new powerchair fits under them perfectly. They are marked with a wheelchair sign and there are two of them to choose from.
