    Large modern service station

It would be a big ask of any venue to be charming on a rainy Monday night, much less a service station, but even in the dark and through my frantic windscreen wipers, I got the impression that Stafford Services was a pleasant place for a stop on your journey. When you come off the motorway, getting to the main building is not the most straightforward and takes you down some winding roads – past lots of grass, picnic benches and a sign to watch out for the ducks. (The latter is probably what charmed me the most.) The first thing I saw at the main building was a sticker on the door about sunflower lanyards, which I thought was a good sign. The accessible bathrooms were quite a long distance from the entrance, but they were nicely decorated with flowers. Overall, I got the impression that there was a lot of good will, but maybe a little bit of ignorance, for example when I found the large bins blocking the transfer spaces. There were signs encouraging feedback, but I could not get the QR code to scan, so I hope that someone from moto might read this and make sure the bins stay out of the way!
