A difficult review to write as the staff were great, the access was pretty good (what we saw), but the lift was out of order.

Limited parking on the Royal Mile.
At the moment I will rate the museum as being a two star but this simply reflects the lift being out of order which prevented a full tour. On paper and from what we did see and the conversation we had with the staff we'd visit again and quite probably give a much higher rating.
The staff were great. On arrival they helped with the doors as we arrived with two powerchair users. They explained what we could see and how the museum was laid out. There were a couple of sections we would not get to but the majority was accessible. It was unfortunate that the lift failed and we couldn't progress very far. The staff were embarrassed but helpful and we acknowledged that these things happen. Their help and attitude made us want to revisit and we will.
