Overview

Boarded via car deck while on coach there is then a lift to take you to each of the other two levels. The first level above the car deck was the one used.. Cal Mac Staff were helpful in getting people to the list if going on this way. If you are going as a foot passenger there is a large number of stairs and no lift Please note if you are booking this ferry please advice them that you have a disability as it should then make them aware that you will be traveling

Transport & Parking

Any of the traffic we noticed were in fact going on to the ferry however there is parking in the area. The train station is located next to the ferry terminal and the bus station area is about 10mins walk away.

Access

Going on via the car deck is fine however this area can be wet so care is required at all times Staff from Cal Mac were always available and were help to passengers

Toilets

There was one accessibly toilet on the first level up from the car deck next to the shop near the stern of the vessel. This is the only toilet that did not have a step. There were grab rails in place and the sink and hand dryer are in a good position. No red cord but a small rope used for the alert system sadly however this did not reach the floor and was partly encased in a tube for some reason.

Staff

The staff do what they can to assist people with disabilities to board the vessel and to assist them while on board the vessel as well.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

We travelled round Isle of Mull to take the ferry to Iona a member of staff to my chair and assisted me on and off the small ferry. It only take around 5 minutes for this voyage and they were happy to let me stay on the open car deck.
