    North Cave Wetlands

    About

Around 30 mins from Hull and 40 mins from York, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust's North Cave Wetlands reserve is developing a renowned reputation for some of the best birdwatching in Yorkshire, despite being only a few years old. A new, accessible viewing platform was introduced in 2015, just metres from the car park. This allows panoramic views across avocets, terns and wading birds in spring/summer, and waders and waterfowl in winter - with a supporting cast of regular birds of prey. Enjoy a brew and a bacon butty from the ‘Wild Bird Café’ caravan, also in the car park. The ‘Crosslands Hide’ at the far end of the car park (for mobility access please drive to the hide entrance) has an access ramp and spacious indoor viewing area, also looking out across a range of wetland habitats.
