    North Yorkshire Moors Railway

    About

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) is a heritage railway in North Yorkshire. Join us to enjoy a fun day out on board a heritage steam or diesel train. Our services run on the 24-mile line from the 1930s inspired Pickering station to the historic seaside town of Whitby. Join us and settle back in one of our vintage carriages as we take you on a scenic journey through the beautiful North York Moors National Park. You can take a trip on our Yorkshire Express or Seaside Special services and see the full line or take a shorter journey on a Moors Explorer service. Each station along the line is packed with vintage character and stories where you can enjoy the spectacular views while you have a Yorkshire cuppa and great local produce. All of our services have an accessible coach and toilet. The coach can be accessed via a ramp, which our staff put in place. The NYMR is owned and operated by a charitable trust, with 100 full time staff and over 1000 volunteers. It’s considered to be the UK’s finest heritage railway.
