Myself & a couple of friends went to this community hall in the furthest north island, Unst, in Shetland. All the community halls are run by local volunteers. We went to a concert by Phil Cunningham (accordion player) & Aly Bain (fiddle player). It was an excellent afternoon concert followed by tea/coffee, sandwiches & a huge variety of home bakes. A very enjoyable day out was had by all.

A lovely village hall with plenty of open level space to allow easy manoeuvrability by a power chair.

I travelled to this place by personal vehicle
There was no disabled parking spaces as this is a very rural village however there was plenty of room to park. The carpark was a bit uneven & there was some chips but I managed ok.

Accessible Toilets
Good
Toilet was clean & could accommodate my power chair. There was no red cord as this is a remote hall run by volunteers & they can’t always afford such things. There would always be someone available within earshot if needed. Sorry no photos of toilet.

As I’ve said “all staff” are local volunteers & are very willing to help & will try their very best to accommodate any person with any mobility needs or disabilities.
