Overview

The entrance, tills, lifts and welcoming friendly staff all make the venue look impressive, with thought put into access. However access in the actual screens is the worst I've ever experienced. Front row wheelchair spaces only, too far close to the screen and gallery seats with a wide balcony that cuts into the view of the screen. I've not been back since, they haven't changed anything since my last complaint.

Transport & Parking

Liverpool One Odeon is part of Liverpool One shopping area of Liverpool Town Centre. I don't know what the car park is like, but taxis can drop off nearby and there's a walkway to Chavasse Park which leads to the row of restaurants the odeon is next to. The train stations, Central and Moorfields, aren't too far away either. I would say it takes about 15 minutes to get from either one to the Odeon

Access

The entrance is flat, the tills when I visited had a decent queue set up with good space to manoeuvre to, and there is a lift to the screens and galleries on the upper floor. There are disabled toilet too. There are boards and staff to inform you where you need to go, but I've not got much experience with them. According to the website, headphones for audio description are available on request.

Staff

2.5

From what I experienced, staff were friendly and at least were willing to help my able bodied friend when she had issues with the reclined chair they have in the galleries. However complaints to staff members don't go very far.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

This is a building built brand new by 2013, and it is very big. But, all the spaces for wheelchairs are in the front row, too close to the screen. The galleries, at £20 a seat, are a VIP 18+ area to screens which offer supposedly better seating as well as all you can eat popcorn. But the balcony is so wide, for small people like myself it cuts the bottom of the screen off the view, and the companion chair is a recliner, which is an even bigger oversight with a balcony blocking the view. My friend, taller than me of average height, had to use a pile of cushions to prop herself up so that she could see over the balcony and in the end, two times out of 3, changed to a bar stool offered up as a solution by the staff. Complaints have been brushed off. It's the worst cinema I've ever been to, and it's a shame it's the easiest to get to because until they change their layout, they'll miss out on my custom as much as I'll miss out on films.
