Disability Discrimination Towards All Wheelchair Users

Overview
Off the Rails is a café/restaurant situated in a converted railway station in the heart of the pretty town of Yarmouth, Isle of Wight There are tables and chairs against the wall of the building on the wide platform and I chose a table to sit at. I am an active manual wheelchair user. The manager refused to let me sit there 'in case I fell over the edge'. There were many people on the same platform along with unrestrained small children and a lady with no sight. Despite my explaining that I was in full control of my (manual) wheelchair and had good brakes if that was his concern, he still insisted that I was in danger of 'falling off' and refused to allow me to sit anywhere on the platform. I do not recommend this venue to be visited by anyone using a wheelchair or mobility scooter as you will be refused service at any of the outside tables and asked to leave.
