Overview
This was planned as the lunch stop and turnaround point for a walk along the old disused railway line from Freshwater, for husband (walking), me (in wheelchair trike) and our little dog. The food was sublime, dog was made welcome and staff so helpful. Access was easy and there was a lovely accessible loo.
Transport & Parking
There's little dedicated parking but there was space to park outside both times when we visited. Level ground if going from parking spaces to the entrance on former station platform.
Access
Level former station platform, no steps to entrance (just a very small threshold to negotiate), level throughout inside, room between tables to fit wheelchair. Helpful staff moved chair to enable me to transfer and opened door when I left.
Toilets
Only deducted half a star because there's a door to open before you reach the disabled loo - planning regs I suspect or something similar. I dare say the staff would have helped me with it if I'd been alone. Accessible loo had everything I needed, clean, well equipped etc.
Staff
Exemplary. Eg moved a chair for me, asked if he could help, then tactfully withdrew when I said I was fine. Welcomed my dog too. Helped with door when I left.
