Partick Library was first opened on 5 June 1925 by the Lord Provost. In 1963 the library was modernised and new lighting installed. The heating was also improved and modernisation was completed in 1966. Partick Library is a single storey with three separate public rooms. Adult Lending, Junior Library and Reading Room/ Learning Centre. Partick Library offers a wide range of services and activities in relaxing and comforting surroundings. The library offers free access to book lending, Large Print Books and Spoken Word in CD or MP3 form which are ideal for visually impaired members. It has a Gaelic Book selection as well as Urdu and Chinese. The library also has 15 Public PCs in their Computer suite with free access to library members. It also has 2 Junior PCs in Junior department. It also hosts several community groups and also offers meeting space for new groups in the library environment. MacMillan Cancer is also based here offering advice and therapies.
