Visit to garden centre and cafe
We were here to get some bedding plants. Access around the area where the plants are kept is good not too difficult in my scooter to negotiate. A good selection of plants for types of gardens, from alpines to trees etc. Plenty of staff around if you needed to ask advice. There are a number of blue badge parking spaces in the car park near the entrance no steps it’s all on one level. There was also enough space for me to get around the indoor
area with the scooter. We had lunch in the cafe unfortunately I was somewhat disappointed with my choice. I had a toastie as they had quite a good choice, due to my allergies I asked if it was possible to have cheese and tomato instead of cheese and spiced chutney. This was no problem. When my toastie arrived there was a small puddle of grease in the middle of the plate which ran into the salad, when I cut the toastie more grease ran out and upon eating it the cheese tasted of grease . I guess they use a poor quality of cheese, I’ve never experienced this before with a cheese toastie . Needless to say I won’t be having that again. My husband had the soup with a scone and that was very nice. Guess I was unlucky with my choice . Most people seem to have cakes and hot drink Or one of the baps with either bacon or sausage in. It was also quite expensive for you had. Not sure we would eat there again but would visit again to get plants as they have such a good selection. The reason for so few stars was due to the cafe poor meal I had. The garden centre itself deserves more stars I would say four .
