Pollokshields East Station is very close to the Tramway arts and cultural venue, the Hidden Gardens and the local Gurdwara. Unfortunately there is no step-free access.

The train tracks at Pollokshields East pass underneath Albert Drive, so there are stairs going down to the platform. They have tactile markings at the top, contrast markings at the edge of the steps and handrails on either side at two heights. There is a small station building at the bottom of the stairs with a ramp at the entrance and exit with handrails on both sides. The door into it is a single door that opens to the outside right. Further along the platform is a shelter with a ticket machine and wall-mounted benches without arm rests. There are also two benches between the building and the shelter with backrests and armrests between the seats.

Albert Drive is a fairly busy street, so there is not really a good place to stop and drop someone off unless you go into the Gurdwara parking lot. There is some street parking further along and on Darnley and Barrland Street, but none right by the station entrance. Also there is no pedestrian crossing near the station entrance. The 59 stops at Forth Street and Barrland Street, roughly within 150 metres of the station entrance.
