Pollokshields West is a small station in Glasgow's Southside, not far from interesting little shops and gastronomy. Unfortunately, it is not a transport option for me as a powerchair user due to the lack of step-free access. There is one platform between two tracks that is accessed vie uncovered stairs from the footbridge between Terregles Avenue and Darnley Road. The pavement on Terregles Avenue is in bad repair and there is no decent lowered curb, but there is a new pedestrian crossing on Darnley Road opposite the footbridge with traffic lights and tactile markings. The stairs have handholds on either side and good contrast on the edges of the steps, but the only tactile markings in the whole station are on the right side of the platform (platform 2). There is one set of benches with backrests and no armrests in a shelter at the bottom of the stairs and some bike racks next to the shelter.

There is street parking on Terregles Avenue and Fotheringay Avenue. The 90 and 189 bus stop within 50 metres of the entrance to the footbridge on Darnley Street.
Accessible facilities: Public or on street parking
