    About

Project EV Charging Station is an electric vehicle charging point located on Arklet Road in the Pollokshields area of Glasgow. This facility provides a practical stop for electric vehicle drivers to recharge their car batteries while in the south side of the city. As a dedicated charging spot, it offers a functional environment for those looking to power their vehicles using smart charging technology in a suburban setting.

No specific accessibility information, such as designated accessible parking bays or step-free access to the charging units, is currently available for this location. We recommend checking for onsite signage or using the Project EV mobile application for real-time updates regarding the facility.

    Always busy

It is a noble goal to have EV charging available at NHS health centres, but I keep finding that they are rarely usable. One factor is that there is rarely enough parking as is and so the parking spaces by the charging points are always in use, usually not by electric vehicles. (Which is fine, since the spaces are not reserved only for EVs.) The other factor is that the bays by the charging terminals are not accessible. There is no protected space around them, so they are quite tight, and there is no way to get to the charging terminal with a walker or in a wheelchair. When I looked up EV chargers in the area, it said there was one at Govan Health Centre and one at the Elder Park Clinic. While the buildings are connected, their car parks are separate and only the side of the Elder Park Clinic has these two charging points among it's regular parking spaces. The terminals sit at the top between two parking spaces, up on a curb with two yellow bollards in front of them. There are no cables provided and there is a 22kW socket on either side of the terminal. The display and buttons are at a medium height. You can pay with an RFID card or by scanning a QR code.
