WestMARC

On the grounds of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, WestMARC (West of Scotland Mobility and Rehabilitation Centre) supports those who require wheelchairs and prosthetics. I popped along to see about a new chair and took a quick note of the accessibility during my visit. At the entrance, there is a small car park with 13 accessible parking spaces, all of which have hatched markings at the rear. The car park itself has a fair few potholes, which were filled with rainwater, not so fun when you're manually propelling a wheelchair. There are dropped kerbs at the entrance and automatic doors on either side. These doors open outwards, while a further set of automatic doors open inwards. Look out for them when you're leaving. On the way in, you'll arrive at the waiting room. The reception desk is on the left as you enter and features a lowered counter. The public areas have level access and corridor doors are pinned open.
