On the grounds of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, WestMARC (West of Scotland Mobility and Rehabilitation Centre) supports those who require wheelchairs and prosthetics. I popped along to see about a new chair and took a quick note of the accessibility during my visit. At the entrance, there is a small car park with 13 accessible parking spaces, all of which have hatched markings at the rear. The car park itself has a fair few potholes, which were filled with rainwater, not so fun when you're manually propelling a wheelchair. There are dropped kerbs at the entrance and automatic doors on either side. These doors open outwards, while a further set of automatic doors open inwards. Look out for them when you're leaving. On the way in, you'll arrive at the waiting room. The reception desk is on the left as you enter and features a lowered counter. The public areas have level access and corridor doors are pinned open.

The public areas have level access throughout. The road on approach has dropped kerbs and tactile markings at the crossings. I noticed a lot of cars parked on the pavement, which is disappointing, particularly as there are "No Parking" signs where the cars are parked.

There is a drop off area at the entrance and a car park with 13 accessible parking spaces. The closest bus stop is 480 metres away, at the main hospital building where the 3, 8, 16, 17, 17A, 21, 23, 23A, 23P, 25, 34, 34A, 77, 90 and X19 services operate.

I didn’t use the accessible toilets, but I counted two female and two male accessible loos on my way to my appointment.
