Good access to large pub/restaurant though refurbishment has reduced number of tables suitable for a wheelchair user

This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Walking Aid, Wheelchair

Overview

We had lunch in this spacious Marston's pub. Parking and access are easy but since Covid more high tables with bar stools have been put in. Normally there would still be plenty of low tables but when we visited a very large coach party was due so most of these had been reserved.

Transport & Parking

There are about four Blue Badge spaces near the door. These do not have cross hatching but are wide. Apart from that, there is a very large tarmac car park.

Access

4

Level access. The outer doors are usually propped open and the inner door is very wide and not too heavy. Plenty of space inside for a wheelchair. I've only taken a star off because of the problem with getting a low table. We got the last one available, because of the reservation for the coach party, even though it was very early lunchtime. There are a great many outdoor tables, some on grass which is not so easy with a wheelchair but many which are accessible for a wheelchair user.

Toilets

5

Plenty of room for a wheelchair user and assistant. Grab rails on both sides. Red cord goes to floor. The toilet also has the baby change.

All very helpful.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

There is a hotel in the same complex as the restaurant. The restaurant is two or three minutes drive from Lomond Shores which others have reviewed. There is a large disabled parking section. It is a pleasant small shopping centre, right beside Loch Lomond. There are accessible toilets, with grab rails on both sides, but most are in the Ladies (and I presume Gents.) There us only one half way down the complex which is unisex.
