A high end country house hotel, recently built which has excellent accessible facilities throughout.

Excellent
Offering both a la carte and casual dining, excellent accessible rooms and ease of movement throughout in my power chair it ticks all my boxes ! The main hotel with 1 accessible room is a 5 minute walk from the Keep with 2 more accessible rooms.
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
The disabled space is adjacent to the ramp to the main entrance. It does take a moment or two to find the ramp. A member of staff is ever present to hold the door open and to assist with cases etc.
Parking & Transport
Average
One disabled parking space in the small carpark in front of reception is not ideal. Plenty of parking is available in the main carpark but it is a short walk away from reception. If you are booked into the Keep there are 2 more disabled spaces outside the front door.
Accessible Toilets
Excellent
There are accessible loos adjacent to both restaurants, bar area and in the Spa. All are very well equipped and spacious enough for my wheelchair. As you would expect in a hotel of this quality they are spotlessly clean.
Staff
Excellent
The deputy general manager was kind enough to show me around and explain the safety protocols in place. The executive chef produces a wide choice of food on the menu and will cater for any requests made of him by a disabled person. While my diet is mainly of pureed or soft food that wasn't a problem for them.
Additional Information
Having been in a hotel when the fire alarm was set off in the early hours I always ask about evacuation of a disabled person. Room 106 in the main hotel is on the same level as a fire escape door at one end of the corridor with a fireproof refuge at the other end. The room has vibrating pillows linked to the fire alarm which are available, on request, in other rooms used by deaf guests. Suction based grab handles are also available at reception for use in bedrooms not advertised as accessible. The pool, sauna and steam room were also accessible with my wheelchair and there were steps and a handrail leading down into the pool. An accessible shower, changing room and toilet are adjacent to the pool.
