Good Accessibility but food for thought
Stayed for week and used it as a base to tour the Island.
The island is both varied and compact. Easy to go from end to end or side to side and lovely countryside and coastline, beaches and hills and very disabled friendly. The hotel was clean, comfortable with lovely friendly, helpful staff. Although a few more will be helpful.
One issue to make us think is that the accessible room we had was on the third floor and on the last night the lift broke down. We had to change to a non-accessible room in the other block for the the last night and whilst it was fortunate they had an empty room it made for hard work moving my wife around manually.
We were lucky that the lift broke down while we were out so never had to get my wife down 3 floors of stairs. I am unsure about any manual back up plan by the hotel but absolutely certain it wouldn't have been available when we had to leave at 5:00 am to get to the ferry. It would need either 2 trained night duty staff or one very strong one! From what a saw the one person the had wouldn't fit the bill and no one mentioned any evacuation equipment. I know the odds are low but it has made me think and will be asking more questions when I book anywhere in the future.
