Overview

Ample disabled parking in large car park at Ravenglass station. Access to trains so easy, staff very accommodating. A great steam train ride in special wheelchair accessible carriages.

Ample parking but we did have to pay. I think access is also possible to Ravenglass railway station . Check the website it's very informative

Access

Easy access to shop, platforms , cafes ( lift to Lower level) I never felt "in the way" or a nuisance. The train carriage side was removed very swiftly, a ramp got my wheelchair in. I shared with a bicycle. My carer sat behind me, sides of carriage open but it was a very sunny day.

Toilets

Clean and easy to use.

Staff

Very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We hadn't booked ahead , I suspect you may have to in school holiday.

Nice little exhibition with easy access. It's all been very well thought out. A great day out. You can't get off the train at any of the mid points, they are all for walkers mainly.
