Salisbury Playhouse

The Playhouse is generally very good for access via walking with aids and/or using wheelchairs.There are accessible toilets, a lift to the upper areas and wheelchair accessible boxes where carers and family can also sit.They also have audio description, subtitled performances and Neuro divergent performances. Blue badge spaces are very close to the Playhouse. I have just been to see their production of Romeo and Juliet (May 2026)and as this was both in and adjacent to the Playhouse they had really carefully planned how to maximise access. Dedicated spaces with seating and wheelchair spaces for assisted access, with no one standing in front of you! Specific people to walk guide you to the next scene with step free access all the way. You listened to the actors via "silent disco" headphones and they catered for people with hearing access requirements. They even had an area where you could go for a break if you needed to decompress for a few minutes and then be escorted back to join the production. In short a shining example of how you can do it properly with good planning to allow us all to access such productions without feeling you are different. Oh and the play was fantastic!

Local theatre offering a fantastic timetable throughout the year from drama, comedy to music and pants. You can park right outside or in the adjacent multi-storey carpark and there are plenty of restaurants within easy walking/wheeling distance.
