The Scottish Storytelling Centre is a vibrant arts venue located on Edinburgh's Royal Mile. We have live storytelling, theatre, music, exhibitions, family events and workshops happening all year round. Visit us to discover Scotland’s rich story heritage, find our dragon’s nest, enjoy our storywall or simply relax in our venue and soak in the atmosphere.

Cosy, Accessible and Welcoming Venue in Central Edinburgh

Came here for refreshments with a friend—quite a quiet, cosy venue with attentive staff and good facilities. Everything was step-free, spaces were well-lit and I didn’t have to worry about accessing the toilets or moving around. A really good experience, would definitely return!

Another delight of the Royal mile

This fully accessible, stunning building contains many stories and readings for both adults and children. Our purpose on the day of our visit however was lunch. There is charity run café which serves stunning delicious food by friendly and helpful staff. Our food was delivered to the table so we could enjoy comfortably.

The Storytelling Centre presents a blend of old and new buildings that once inside offer an engaging space to visit, listen, learn, play and enjoy. All of which is designed to be as accessible as it can for everyone.
