Shopmobility Aberdeen provides a range of convenient services to people with mobility difficulties in order to improve access to Aberdeen city centre, its attractions and facilities. At Shopmobility Aberdeen you will find a range of manual and powered wheelchairs, powered scooters, walking aids and volunteer assistants to help you . Shopmobility Aberdeen is close to both the bus and rail stations, is a short distance from the NorthLink Ferry Terminal and, given advance notice of your arrival, we can meet you at any of these with a piece of equipment or a volunteer assistant to make sure that your visit to Aberdeen city centre is the best it can be. Shopmobility Aberdeen also has a wheelchair accessible vehicle which can be borrowed for those wishing to venture further afield and explore Aberdeenshire and beyond. Accessibility

We are situated on parking level one of Union Square, which is right beside a number of blue badge parking spaces, and there is level access throughout on well maintained surfaces. From the shopping malls, we are in close proximity to the the elevators, again access in all directions is level on well maintained floor tiles. Colour distinction for people with visual impairments is very limited, with most of the decor being shades of brown and beige, contrast on the large glass doors to our unit and at the entrances to the is denoted by a thick black horizontal strip.

Toilets

We have a toilet with hand rails, a shelf, and a lower level basin. The toilet can be transferred on to from the left only. There are several accessible toilets available in Unon Square itself, including a Changing Places facility on the ground floor.

Staff

All staff have received disability awareness training, training in how to help assist someone who has impaired sight and some have SQA Introduction to British sign language

This is a city centre facility, and there are no areas suitable for exercising an assistance dog off the lead.
