Creative space in the heart of York that supports independent food and drink, retail, social enterprise and community groups.

Accessibility

The entrance is located at the front of the building, there is step-free access via ramp. The ramp is over 150cm wide with a handrail on the right going up and the width of the opening is 488cm. There is step-free level access throughout the majority of areas, however some seating areas do have step access. The lift surveyed is located centrally located near the stairs just past the first block of shops after entering, and the journey time from the entrance is approximately one minute. The lift has step-free level access and takes you to the first floor. It is a platform lift, with an opening of 101cm. There are two staircases in the venue, one at the front and one at the rear. Each case has 18 steps, with handrails up both sides. The seating areas have benches, chairs with backs are available upon request. There is room for assistance/service dogs to rest, and space for wheelchair users to manoeuvre. There is background music in these areas.

Toilets

There are two sets of toilets, one on each floor. Both have small stepped access, which can be wheeled over. Both toilets have a cubicle for disabled access, with alarms, handrails, full length mirrors, sliding bolt locks, and doors that open inwards. The width of the downstairs cubicle is 84cm, the width of the upstairs cubicle is 80cm.

There are no nearby facilities for dog exercise, as we are located in the city centre.

Water bowls for dogs are available around the venue, you can either help yourself or ask a member of the team for one is they are not immediately visible. We also have dog treats available in the office space, but will only give these with dog owner permission and knowledge.
