St Andrew Square tram stop is a stone’s throw from the St James Shopping Centre, which is one of my favourite places to go in the city - it even has a Changing Places toilet! As you might expect, it also borders St Andrew Square, which is a pleasant spot for a lunch break for those working in or visiting Edinburgh. There’s even a Costa in the park for anyone who fancies a quick coffee before hopping on the tram.

Disabled Access In and Around

Good

Getting to the platforms is straightforward as there are ramps on both sides and it really does make travelling by tram feel effortless as there is no fussing with portable ramps or any need to arrange assistance. Like the other stops you'll find seating on the platform for anyone who needs a breather while waiting for the next tram. There are ticket machines and smart card terminals too. The platform edges have tactile markings and there is a help point with braille for anyone who needs information or needs to call for assistance in an emergency. It also includes a hearing loop. Signage is minimal but adequate.

Just across the road from the tram stop you'll find St Andrew bus station and Waverley 320 metres away. There is no dedicated parking nearby but there are some standard on street parking spaces around the square that may help some. You can also hop on the tram here to reach Edinburgh Airport which takes just over 30 minutes.

Accessible Toilets

There is no accessible toilet here or at the Costa in the park but there are loos in the bus station and a Changing Places toilet at the St James Shopping Centre.
