    St Clair Cottage, Pierowall, Westray, Orkney an easy access, warm cottage, in the village, by the shore, restored with a guest + carer in mind but magic and relaxing for all. it’s warm, homely, fun, easy to move around, and has captivating views which change with the tides, the boats, the birds and the weather.

    Excellent in every way

    Beautiful cottage tastefully and thoughtfully converted for disabled person plus carer/s. Wonderful view of the sea - of the whole bay - from the main room. No profiling bed or hoist, but I guess you can't have everything - dog allowed, hot tub available! Two shops nearby have ramps and swimming pool has hoist. We were given a tour of the island using our own vehicle. No accessible beaches but such lovely views from all the quiet roads. Ferry from Orkney to Westray not great as we had to stay in the van. but all in all a wonderful two weeks. Friends or family can stay in nearby self catering.

    Disabled Access at St Clair Cottage

    Enclosed grassed garden, parking for four cars and disabled parking at the front door. Rubber path through the garden, raised flower beds. No steps except to beach. Level access and level throughout the house; large wet room; mobile hoist and other aids can be brought from Kirkwall by arrangement. Sea view right outside the window with birds, boats, islands and village. Large modern play park across the road.Indoor Swimming pool with hoist and trained life guards across the road @ the school. Shops, Hotel, Cafe, Heritage Centre, Gallery all easy access and within 5 minutes level walk. General Stores and fish and chip shop will deliver to the door. Level walk round the bay to the pier with fishing boats and marina.
