Venue Description

St Martin-in-the-Fields is the iconic church on the northeast corner of Trafalgar Square.   Throughout its history, dating back to at least 1222, St Martin’s hast been an innovator.  It was the location of the first lending library and the first religious broadcast and St Martin’s pioneering work with homeless people starting in the First World War and continues today with the Connection at St Martin’s.  A strong musical tradition including performances by Mozart and Handel and the founding of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields continues to flourish.  Visitors can enjoy an outstanding church music programme as well as an internationally acclaimed concert programme, with six classical music concerts and one jazz night each week.  St Martin’s is steeped in beautiful Georgian and modern architecture.  The design and warm welcome extends downstairs for brass rubbing, shopping and favourite London eatery, the Cafe in the Crypt.

Accessibility

St Martin-in-the-Fields Church can be entered using the steps in the front of the church or via a ramp on the north side of church.

Toilets

Toilets suitable for wheelchair users and families with buggies are available in the Café in the Crypt. Baby changing facilities are also available.
