A relaxed, informal neighbourhood bistro offering great food at great value in a warm & welcoming environment. Located at 30 Colquhoun Square in the heart of Helensburgh, we’re open from 10 o’clock each morning (11 on a Sunday) through until late at night: serving morning coffees, afternoon cream teas and inspired, seasonal à la carte bistro menus which showcase the best local produce. We also have a superb 3 course fixed price weekend lunch menu for £16.50. To complement our food, we offer a wide selection of great drinks too. From our kitchen: think braised venison, buttered neeps & redcurrants; pan-fried cod, olive oil mash, mushroom duxelles; and warm clafoutis, salted caramel ice cream.

Lunch at the Sugar Boat Helensburgh

Overall a most enjoyable experience – Well done Sugar Boat At lunchtime there is a fast lunch menu, set price and a la carte giving plenty of choice. We choose the fixed price menu which offered excellent variety for a good price. Dishes were well presented piping hot and beautifully cooked. The flavours were excellent. For the set lunch I would recommend adding a side order of vegetables. I particularly welcomed the complementary sparkling water. Overall the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food. We never felt rushed and had a relaxed enjoyable lunch.

Disabled Access at Sugar Boat

Fully step free disabled access and disabled toilet plus a large accessible toilet. A wheelchair can fit through our front door (but there is a step free side entrance to access the disbled toilet)
