When I was making my way through Swansea city centre I had to stop by the castle. The ruins date back to the 13th century and as a bit of a history nerd, it was lovely to stop and take in the history while the 21st century whizzed on around me. It’s located in a busy part of the city centre and is actually on quite a steep hill. It had two levels which both had benches to sit on and it was the perfect place to stop and have a Welsh cake (or two!)

The castle ruins are located on quite a steep hill. The area by the ruins becomes level and has smooth, well-laid stone slabs. There are two levels with benches, there are some steps between the two levels on one side, and the other is connected by the street pavement. There are some information boards here too with images and text about the castle. There is no shelter here, if the weather is bad it is all open to the elements

I came past this spot twice, both while I was wheeling to other locations. The closest bus stop is around 170 metres away on Princes Way. There is no parking nearby.
