Venue Description

Strathclyde is a leading technological university in the heart of Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city. Our Technology & Innovation Centre (TIC) offers state-of-the-art conferencing facilities within easy reach of transport networks, hotels and the Scottish Exhibition & Conference Centre (SECC). TIC is a world-class research hub, revolutionising collaboration between academia, industry and the public sector. Our flagship building, it is home to dedicated conferencing facilities for up to 450 delegates, available all year round.


There is level access into the building from George Street, with push-pad entry available. Conferencing facilities are located on Levels 1, 2, 3, & 9 of the building, all of which are connected by passenger lifts. Reception, the Café, the Main Auditorium and the principal foyer space are all located on the ground floor (Level 2). There are three tiered auditoria, all of which have two spaces for delegates using wheelchairs. All other conference rooms and foyers are flat-floored, with no slopes or gradients to take into account. All conference rooms are fitted with an induction loop. in the event of an emergency evacuation, there are temporary safe waiting areas and Evac Chairs to accommodate any delegate unable to evacuate using stairs.


All of the accessible toilets have grab rails, easy-turn taps, and sink, hand driers and mirrors are at a height designed for wheelchair users; they are also fitted with pull-cord alarms.
