Overview

Pub 1 of the second day of my accessibility pub crawl in Broughty Ferry. Serves great food, but is a very popular pub so you usually have to book a table.

Transport & Parking

5

There is a council car park next door and other carparks/on street parking nearby, a taxi rank is also nearby. There are also plenty of buses that pass through Broughty Ferry on regular basis. A train station is also situated in Broughty Ferry although I don’t know anything about how often they stop, I know it’s not that much though.

Access

4

There is a bell outside of The Anchor that would be used to get assistance for access, but it didn’t appear to be working when I visited. Someone had to therefore go inside and get someone to put down the ramp. The table that we got seated at wasn’t as accessible for my chair than I hoped but I was still able to eat my food. There is space between tables to get around in my wheelchair, although when I visited it was a Friday lunchtime, so it was quiet, I’ve not been when it’s very busy.

Toilets

3

The Anchor does have a disabled toilet however, it isn’t very spacious if someone needs assistance from someone else. There is no changing place toilet though. Down at the beach in Broughty Ferry there is a changing place although, it is only open till 5pm in the Summer and 3:30pm in the Winter.

Staff

All staff members were very friendly.
