Excellent
The Anchor is a pub located in one of the shopping streets a couple of moments from the sea front. It serves traditional pub food rather than being a gastro pub. It serves a wide menu and portions are extremely generous.
Good
There is some step free indoor seating and another area which has about five steps with a hand rail to get to, the downstairs area is quieter as there is no TV and is away from the main bar. There is also some step free outdoor seating. Tables and chairs are free standing.
Excellent
Sidmouth doesn't have a railway station. The 9 or 9A bus from Exeter takes about 35 - 45 minutes and stops at the Sidmouth Triangle. There are other local bus services that go to Sidmouth. The pub is a couple of minutes from the bus stop.
I didn't use the toilets so unable to comment.
Excellent
Staff were very friendly and helpful. On my first visit I arrived while a World Cup football match was on but it was still quite easy to find a quiet seat. I sat downstairs an staff on seeing my crutch offered to come to the table and take my order to save me going back up to the bar. Usually customers are expected to order food and drink at the bar.
