We visited Team Scotland House earlier this week, which is home to Team Scotland during the Commonwealth Games. We enjoyed the museum, the Clyde Club and the gift shop, but there were a few areas where accessibility was not quite good enough. When not functioning as a Games hub, the venue is better known as The Corinthian, home to many work nights out, some of which I attended before I became a wheelchair user, though I often left early (it's a bit pricey).

    Disabled Access In and Around

    Rating Emoji

    Poor

I'm rating general access as poor, mostly because I had to send someone in to ask staff to open the side door, which has a pretty steep ramp leading up to it. If I need to send a scouting party to get into the accessible entrance, it is not an accessible entrance. This takes you in through the restaurant, which can get busy and has a large raised dining area in the middle. The lift in the building is quite small. A powerchair or small scooter may fit, but it is tight. There are tactile buttons in the lift, but no Braille. I did not see any hearing loop signage within the building.

Accessible facilities: Step-free entrance, Seating at regular intervals

I travelled to this place by train

I took the train to Glasgow Central and wheeled the rest of the way. There are regular bus services on Queen Street, Ingram Street and the surrounding streets. Queen Street railway station is also a short distance away. On-street parking can be found nearby if you're lucky but accessible parking spaces are in short supply.

Accessible facilities: Public or on street parking

    Accessible Toilets

I did not use the facilities, so I cannot comment on them, but there is an accessible toilet on the ground floor.

    Good

Staff were helpful and quick to open the side door once they were notified. They looked after us well.
