The Glee Clubs are an award winning group of comedy clubs with venues across the country. We currently have venues in Birmingham, Cardiff, Nottingham, Oxford and now Glasgow. We are most well known for live comedy however we also put on live music, burlesque, drag, spoken word and other types of shows. Over the years comedians such as Michael McIntyre, Lee Evans, Peter Kay, Sarah Millican, Kevin Bridges, Jack Whitehall and Katherine Ryan have graced our stages and music acts such as Adele and Mumford and Sons have also played our clubs.

Great live comedy venue, highly recommend

Great experience every time I’ve been here. There’s a lift up to the first floor, which just about fits an electric wheelchair and 2 people but otherwise has flat access in from mermaid quay and into the glee club itself. There’s no allocated wheelchair spaces per se but they usually fit a wheelchair either behind or beside one of the tables.

Disabled Access at The Glee Club Cardiff

As our auditorium is above ground level, wheelchair users and those unable to navigate stairs will need to take the lift on the ground floor entrance to the Mermaid Quay / Glee. This will take you to our main entrance within the atrium, the venue is all on one level from there, and step-free. Please make yourselves known to the staff at the doors, who will gladly assist you with your entrance into the auditorium. If you are a wheelchair user, it is really useful for us to know what type and size of wheelchair you have when you contact us to make a booking, in order to place you in the best position possible for you to enjoy the show.

The nearest car park is Mermaid Quay Car Park which is under 3 minutes on foot/wheelchair from the venue. It has 16 designated bays for disabled users, though full rates apply (https://www.mermaidquay.co.uk/find-us/). There is also limited on-street parking on Bute Street and Mount Stuart Square, free after 6pm. A little further from the club, the nearest car park offering Blue Badge Holders free parking is Havannah Street (https://www.cardiff.gov.uk/ENG/resident/Parking-roads-and-travel/parking/Car-parks/Pages/Car-Parks.aspx), which will take 6-8 minutes on foot/wheelchair to the venue.

There is an accessible toilet, with step-free access and wide doors suitable for manual and power wheelchairs. It has grab rails, easy turn locks and taps, and space for a carer to assist.
