A treasure trove of gifts or a little something for yourself.

I always look in the window of The Herbary (www.theherbarytroon.co.uk) with awe at the amazing stock they hold and imagine the kind of damage I could so easily do to my bank balance if left to my own devices for too long in there. There is jewelry by Skagen, handbags by Katie Loxton and Kipling, fragrances by Fired Earth, gloves, scarves, glassware by Sara Miller, notebooks, and all sorts of things that would make a perfect gift for your female friends or relatives. It is easy to access the store in my self-propelled wheelchair via the street level door, and whilst the store is small and the display shelving full of beautiful items, the staff are more than happy to move the displays to enable you to get around in your wheelchair and to fetch items that are out of reach. On this occasion, I was looking for a handbag that I could wear across my body in my wheelchair that was big enough for my everyday stuff but also had a separate section big enough to carry Morse's bits and pieces, the assistant had a good knowledge of their stock and was more than happy to try out various bags, testing the zippers and fastenings to make sure I could manage them, and adjust straps or add straps for me so that I came away with exactly what I needed. At no time did I feel rushed or pressured into making a purchase, nor did I feel in the way because I was made so welcome. Payment is via cash or card and the card reader can be brought to you in your chair. What's not to love about this Aladdin's Cave?
