The Maltings Theatre & Cinema is the premier performing and media arts venue for north Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Housed within a purpose-built building in the centre of the historic market town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, The Maltings offers a full programme of nearly 700 events each year – mixing world-class professional performance and film with community-centred activities, workshops and amateur events.

The Maltings, Berwick upon Tweed

The Maltings Theatre and Cinema is situated in the centre of Berwick upon Tweed and provides entertainment for all ages. It has been well adapted so that it is accessible to all. The friendly staff offer help and advice to those who may require it.

Disabled Access at The Maltings Theatre & Cinema

Disabled parking spaces available in Pay & Display public car park in front of theatre. Level and ramped access located at far-left of the front entrance. Left-hand foyer doors are power assisted The lift is located in the foyer with access to Floors -1, -2, -3 & -4. The adapted toilet is located on Floor -3. Wheelchair spaces for registered disabled and companion can be booked through Box Office. A Hearing Induction Loop system is available in the Main House Theatre. Guide dogs are welcome. Periodic HOH (S)ubtitled Screenings: accessible cinema for those with hearing loss.

There is a 2-hour Pay & Display public car park with disabled spaces, Mon-Sat 8am-6pm. The Maltings does not operate the car park in front of the theatre, please read posted signs very carefully.

We have a lift-accessible toilet on floor -3 with baby chnging facilities, hand rail and taps that don't require turning, just a push.
