The Royal Institution of Cornwall, founded in 1818, was set up to promote excellence across all fields relating to Cornwall’s world leading industries and art through the creation of the Royal Cornwall Museum, the Courtney Library and a programme of lectures. Our Vision The Royal Institution of Cornwall will become a beacon for Cornish heritage and culture; involving and inspiring people through engagement with Cornish heritage and its links to the world. Easy to navigate but not ideal

Nice variety of things and constantly changing temporary exhibits, so you can make the most of the yearly-by-default ticket (which is very affordable, and carers go free). There is a fair amount of information you cannot read from wheelchair height. The text is also very small and the glare on the glass makes it painful to read. Toilet is not good for wheelchair users.

The Museum is accessible via three stone steps with rail or via a ramp at the front entrance. We have access to the first floor in the museum via a lift.
