The Royal Mint Experience is an interactive visitor attraction located in Llantrisant, South Wales. This family-friendly venue allows visitors to explore over one thousand years of British coin-making history. Visitors can engage with immersive interactive exhibitions, view rare historic coins, and look at the London 2012 Olympic medals. The attraction also features an on-site café that serves refreshments and a dedicated gift shop.

The venue provides several static features to support visitors with access requirements. The Royal Mint Experience features step-free access and is situated entirely on the ground level. There is a large tarmac car park located approximately fifty metres from the entrance which includes clearly signposted accessible parking spaces. Visitors can access unisex accessible toilets equipped with assistance rails and emergency alarms, and assistance dogs are welcome across the site.

Flat but tour could be better

Visited with my husband. Managed to get a tour. Site is flat and most spaces have enough room for a mobility scooter. The exhibition is good. The tour could be better planned. On our tour, there were 2 other disabled people, including someone using a large Powerchair. The tour guide held doors open, but spoke in quite a soft voice and didn't always look at the group. As soon as you are in the functioning factory it is quite noisy and really would have benefited from a microphone and us wearing headsets. Also there was no attempt to let the wheelchairs to the front, so I could neither see the display or hear the explanation. Even after it was mentioned to the tour guide, she didn't change anything.

Money, money, money

Plenty of disabled parking near the ramped entrance. All areas of the tour accessible and very helpful tour guides. Accessible cafe and clean disabled toilet. When booking inform them of your mobility needs.
