Seriously Impressed with their disability access and awareness

A renowned scientific society that promotes excellence and education in all areas of science. The Society hold regular, free public talks and an annual summer exhibition to engage both adults and children in recent scientific discoveries. The topics are ones that are frequently in the news, such as climate change, robots, etc and they are presented by knowledge scientists, from that particular field . The building has excellent disabled access and are very proactive as an organisation in assisting people with disabilities to access their facilities and events.

Disabled Access at The Royal Society

There are four steps from street level to the doorway. There is a wheelchair lift at the entrance which is operable by reception staff. Please use the buzzer to the right of the entrance steps. If you would like a wheelchair space at an event, please contact us in advance so that we can ensure it is reserved for you, and arrive at least twenty minutes before the start of the event. For our public events that operate on a first-come first-served basis, we have a limited number of bookable seats for people with impaired mobility who would be unable to queue.

There are a limited number of parking spaces immediately outside the front door which may be booked in advance by visitors with a Blue Badge disabled parking permit.
