    Theatre Royal

    About

The Theatre Royal is Glasgow’s oldest theatre and has been at the heart of the city’s rich cultural life for almost 150 years. Home to the prestigious Scottish Opera and Scottish Ballet, the venue also hosts a variety of comedy, dance, drama and musical theatre. Whilst retaining the charm of the beautiful Victorian auditorium, with a seating capacity of 1541, its recent transformation of the foyer space has brought the venue firmly into the 21st century. The state-of-the-art facility includes a dramatic entrance leading into the new box office and café Vanilla Black at the Theatre, better bars, more toilets, a rooftop terrace with stunning views across the city, purpose-built education rooms and new lifts providing access to all levels.
