I was really pleased to see the accessible EV charging bays in the Victoria Station car park. Given that it’s quite a small car park I was surprised to see these here but I think it’s really important to provide these so I was really excited to see it. The car park is small with only 81 spaces in total and it’s an open-air car park with no overhead covering. It’s a paid car park operated by APCOA.
Disabled Access In and Around

The way to enter the car park via road is via Eccleston Bridge. This is where the vehicle entrance is. Inside the car park are zebra crossings which go through the car park and connect you to the main station building. There is one entrance to the station from the car park and it has no ramps or stairs to get there. The car park was an open-air car park which didn’t have any overhead canopies or coverings. The ground was a slightly uneven tarmac but it wasn’t too bumpy. It was a paid car park so there were barriers that lifted up to let people in and out of the car park. There were five accessible parking spaces on the side of the car park that was closest to the station. On the other side of the car park were the EV charging bays. On the end closest to the entrance/exit to the car park were two accessible EV charging bays which was excellent to see. They had the usual size bay and hatch markings that you would expect in a standard accessible parking space. There was a wheelchair symbol in the centre of the bay, like you would expect, but it was paired with a charging symbol too. The charging machines were placed to the side of the bay, within the hatch markings, so they wouldn’t be obstructed by cars. They were on a raised concrete block but it was quite small and I didn’t feel it would obstruct me from interacting with it very much. The machine itself was also not too high. The connectors were all Type 2 connectors and you needed to have your own cable with you. You also paid for the charging via the APCOA app. There were signs on all of the machines with details on how to pay and which charger you were using.

In this car park there are 81 spaces with five accessible parking spaces, 12 EV charging bays and two accessible EV charging bays. This car park is connected to Victoria Station. There are three train operators that run from Victoria Station. Southeastern, Southern and the Gatwick Express all run regular trains from here. From these operators there are trains to Orpington, Gravesend, Ramsgate, Dover Priory, Gillingham, Ashford International, London Bridge, Epsom Downs, West Croydon, Dorking, East Grinstead, Reigate, Bognor Regis, Portsmouth Harbour, Littlehampton, Eastbourne, Brighton and Gatwick Airport. There is also an Underground station connected to the railway station. The Victoria, District and Circle lines run through the underground station. On the Circle Line you can get services to Edgware Road and Hammersmith. On the District Line you can get westbound services to Wimbledon, Richmond, and Ealing Broadway and eastbound services to Upminster. On the Victoria Line you can get services to Walthamstow Central and Brixton. Victoria Coach Station is 550 metres away from the railway station and there are a large number of bus and coach services available from here. Just outside the station, on Terminus Place, is a small bus station where there are four different stops with different buses available. The stops are all quite long, as some of the buses will terminate here and wait before beginning a new route. They have canopies and seating. The bus 52 stops at Stop A and provides services to Green Park, Oxford Circus, Camden Town and Kentish Town. Stop B is where the bus 3 terminates. Stop C is where the bus 390 terminates. Stop D is where the buses 38 and N38 stop. The daytime services, 38, has routes that go to Hackney Central and Clapton Pond. The night services, N38, terminates at Victoria and then provides services to Walthamstow Bus Station.

There were accessible toilets inside the station including a Changing Places toilet, although this was not available when I visited.
