Excellent

The Village is a large modern purpose built hotel and leisure complex and was built in around 2014. Situated a fifteen-minute car journey from the city centre.

Disabled Access In and Around

Excellent

Access in and around the building: The entrance is via a wide automated door and once inside the door the reception is immediately in front of you. Staff are always available at the desk to offer assistance. The desk does have a section lowered to make it easier for wheelchair users to check in. The desk does not currently have an induction loop. The hotel is on several floors and modern lift is situated immediately to the right of the reception desk. The clearance for the lift door is 90 cm. Access in the accessible bedrooms and bathrooms: There are two accessible rooms on each floor, making a total of six rooms. The clearance for the accessible room doors is 87 cm. Beds are adjustable. Access in the dining area: The dining area is to the left of the reception area and is accessed via the Hotel's Bar. Access to other facilities: The Hotel has a Leisure Complex and a Starbucks Coffee Shop

Parking & Transport

Excellent

The Village has a modern look and feel with wide walkways to the front and side and level access from the parking areas or the footpath to the main road where bus connections can be made. The entrance to the Village Hotel is on the western side of the building and vehicles can drop off or pickup guests from the door. The main door is wide and automated as you approach it.

Accessible Toilets

Excellent

An accessible toilet is available on the ground floor and is to the left of the approach to the Leisure Complex.

Staff

Excellent

We met several staff during our visit and they were all very friendly and helpful. There was a definite “can do” attitude and nothing was too much trouble.

Additional Information

The hotel offers some great accessible rooms and the added bonus of a leisure complex. The ability to park right outside the front door was great.
