Disabled Access at Wellpark Corner

At Wellpark Corner, we are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all guests. We keep decoration minimal and clutter free in order avoid overstimulation. We provide both blinds and curtains to help block out light. We have a sensory bag with fidget tools and ear defenders for guests to use while out and about in the area. We have contrasting features set against white walls and dark splash backs. There are handles throughout the property opposed to door knobs. The property is all single level with only 1 x 2cm lip accessing the shower area. We provide movable furniture to ensure optimum layout for the guest. We have large button remote controls. We provide removable grab bars and a show chair in the bathroom. We use allergy and scent free cleaning products. We provide a comfortable, pull out double sofabed in the living room for carers or travel companions. Assistance dogs are part of the family here at Wellpark corner. There is a garden next door, water and food bowls and a local park only a 5minute walk from the property. While the property is not wheel-chair accessible, we support the access needs of people with physical disabilities, sensory impairments, learning disabilities, and those who are neurodivergent. There is ample free on street parking is available outside the property across the road or one door down on the same. Unfortunately this is no dedicated disabled spaces however there is a drop curb directly outside the property.

Accessible parking bays are available nearby within 50 metres of the entrance.

Transport nearby Wellpark Corner

Bus: There is a bus stop only 150yards from the property. The bus station is 1 mile away in Glenrothes. There are disabled toilets available at the station. There is also ramps and railings here. There is a taxi rank directly outside the bus station which is routinely busy with taxis. There is a train station in the village. This is a quarter of a mile from the property - a steep hill can be avoided via an alternative, but just as quick, route. The station has a disabled toilet. The station and ticket office is manned throughout the day but there is also a ticket machine if the station is unmanned. There is a bridge accessed via a ramp and a lift to the platform on the opposite side of the station. There are no ticket barriers at the station meaning tickets can also be bought on the train if required/preferred. There is no taxi rank at the train station however there is a taxi pick up and drop off for pre-arranged taxi transfers.

Emma - your host - is a disability inclusion advisor by day. Emma also has some experience with BSL and has 2 SVQ qualifications in BSL although she is a bit rusty these days. There are many accessible activities and venues within Fife. Your host Emma is happy to help you plan any activities to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
